Oasis 4-р сард Сөүл хотод тоглоно

Oasis хамтлаг Сөүл хотод 4-р сарын 1-ны өдөр тоглох гэж байна. 

It's no April Fool's Day joke. British rock group Oasis is returning to Seoul for a much-awaited concert April 1, barely three years after their sold-out concert in 2006.

Oasis, one of the most popular British rock bands in Korea, will perform at the Olympic Gym #1, Olympic Park, southern Seoul. Tickets will be sold starting 4 p.m., Jan. 15 on ticketing Web site Interpark.

The Oasis concert is expected to be one of the most anticipated events in 2009. The group's first concert in Seoul in 2006 was an undeniable success, selling out thousands of seats in advance.

In an earlier interview with The Korea Times, Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher said their upcoming world tour is the band's ``biggest'' ever. ``The tour is bigger than anything we've done before and the tour will be our boldest yet,'' he said.

Oasis is mainly composed of the Gallagher brothers, Noel and his younger brother and vocalist Liam, who are largely responsible for coming up with Oasis' music. Other current members include guitarist Gem Archer and bassist Andy Bell.

Oasis shot to fame with their first album ``Definitely Maybe'' in 1994, followed by the even more successful album ``(What's the Story) Morning Glory?'' in 1995. Their third album ``Be Here Now'' became the fastest-selling album in U.K. chart history in 1997. Through the years, they've released albums ``Standing on the Shoulder of Giants'' (2000) ``Heathen Chemistry'' (2002) and ``Don't Believe the Truth.''

Oasis has sold millions of albums, scored number one hits and won numerous music awards around the world. Songs like ``Wonderwall,'' ``Don't Look Back in Anger,'' ``Champagne Supernova'' and ``Whatever'' are some of their biggest hits. At the height of their success, the Gallagher brothers also gained a reputation as ``bad boys'' of British rock.

In 2008, Oasis released their latest album ``Dig Out Your Soul,'' to critical acclaim and commercial success. Gallagher described their new album as ``driving, pounding, acid rock, added with much more groove.''

Oasis is currently on a European tour, with concerts in France, Italy, Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The band hits Japan in late March with a series of concerts in Nagoya, Tokyo, Sapporo and Osaka, before heading to Seoul in April.

WorldWide Telescope

Microsoft-оос Microsoft Windows үйлдлийн систем дээр ажилладаг байхаар гаргасан WorldWide Telescope нэртэй програм нь сансар огторгуйгаар аялахад зориулсан програм юм. Анх 2008 оны 2 дугаар сард Калифорни мужийн Монтэрэе (Monterey, California) хотод болсон TED (Technology, Entertaniment, Design) чуулга уулзалтан дээр зарлагдсан. Хэрэглэгчид огторгуй ертөнцийн аль нэгэн хэсгийг татаж ойртуулан томруулж харах боломжтой юм. Уг програм дээр ашигласан зурагнуудыг Хаббл Сансрын Дуран ( Hubble Space Telescope ) ба дэлхий дээрх ойролцоогоор 10 ширхэг дуран авайнуудыг ашиглан авчээ. Энэ програм нь Microsoft-ийн Visual Experience Engine технологийг ашиглан ажилладаг.       

 Энэхүү төсөл (WWT) 2002 оноос Microsoft-ийн судлагааны  хүрээлэн (Microsoft Research) болон Жон Хопкинсийн их сургууль (John Hopkins University) дээр хэрэгжиж эхэлжээ. Тэррасервер (Terraserver) хэмээх хиймэл дагуулаас харуулсан дэлхийн гадрагын өгөгдлийн санг боловсруулсан өгөгдлийн сангийн шинжээч Жим Грэй (Jim Gray) дахин хэмжээлшгүй уудам огторгуйн зурагны өгөгдлийн санг боловсруулахаар шийдснээр энэхүү програм бий болжээ.

2008 оны 10 дугаар сарын байдлаар 1.5 сая идвэхтэй хэрэглэгчтэй болоод байна.
